Welcome to the new look chocolatehedgehog.co.uk website. I have designed it to give you, the user, a more quirky and memorable browsing experience than the original (more traditional) version of the site. If you're interested, you can switch to the original site by clicking here.

Chocolatehedgehog.co.uk is primarily a tool for me to develop and hone my web design skills, and showcase my coding in HTML, CSS, PHP, XML, Javascript, jQuery, Flash, MySQL and other web technologies.

Be sure to check out my portfolio of webdesign work, with links to a couple of the websites I have worked on. You can use the PHP contact form to e-mail me and discuss any webdesign or flash projects you have in mind, or simply submit general queries. The gallery shows off some images and Flash movies that I've created. Be sure to look at the CH desktop background contained in the gallery, and use it if you like it. Finally the page of links are sites that I have found to be useful, and I hope you find the same.

Use the menu on the left to navigate and enjoy the site. If at any time you wish to return here to the homepage, click on the Chocolate Hedgehog in the banner.

I have been developing a web interface for the Controlsoft I-Net control unit. It forms a completely standalone access control system, which at the moment can control 2 doors.

The web interface allows you to view access card swipe events from the live system, add users into the database so they may gain access to one or both doors, force a door open remotely, adjust countless controller settings, and much more.

The web app allows the system to be extremely flexible, as it is accessible from any web browser, is not specific to a particular software installation or operating system, can cope with simultaneous logins with no complex client/server setup and could be accessible from anywhere in the world.

The I-Net control unit is based on an ARM Linux platform with the Boa Webserver. To get it working I had to cross complie PHP to run on the ARM platform (for the .configure script and further details see the code resource section).
